Welcome to the MacUser MegaPac CD-ROM, a collection of freeware, shareware, and unique utilities, extensions, icons, and more for subscribers to MacUser Magazine!
To use the MacUser MegaPac, your Macintosh should have a 13 inch monitor and capable of showing 256 colors. You should be running System 6.05 (or later), and have 3 MB of RAM free (after the System is running). Depending on which software you would like to install, you should have some free hard disk space - 15 MB should do if you wanted to install everything.
To get a look at the contents of the collections included here before you install, double click on the MacUser MegaPac CD-ROM application first. If you like, you can also run the installers on this CD by simply double-clicking on them.
After you double-click on an installer, you may find that the list of folders in the standard save dialog box is set to install on this CD-ROM. Since you can't install software on a CD-ROM disk (it cannot be written to; it's Read Only Media), System 7 users should click on the 'Desktop' button to select a different drive from the list of mounted drives, and System 6 users should click on the 'Drive' button until the drive you want to install the software on is shown.
